Packed Perfection in Pine Plains

This past Tuesday was beautiful with a capital B. The weather had a slight chill but was kept away with a light layer and the sun was out to play!  It was a perfect day for a picnic. After taking a bit too long getting all of our snacks prepared, Nolan and I headed a few minutes up the road where we've gone hiking many times before.
It was an absolute perfect choice, and an adorable picnic with amazing company.
We decided to bring the Ellie Bell! She was in desperate need of some fresh air and was eager to run and sniff around!
After walking to get a closer view of the pond, we settled in the sun and spread out the blanket from my picnic backpack, one of the best and unfortunately least used gifts I've ever gotten from Nolan.  This thing is so handy!
I couldn't find the exact picnic pack, but here is a similar one. It may seem a bit pricy, but this pack is so convenient and is perfect for a day of hiking and picnicking!
On to the goodies... I packed some soporsetta, figs, blue cheese, carrots, and apples.
I also threw in a few of my new favorite flax seed corn chips, along with some fresh Italian bread and a mason jar full of apple cider. The perfect spread for a Fall afternoon.
This sandwich here was a thrown together masterpiece. Nolan wanted some sort of heartiness to our picnic adventure, so I threw some left over London Broil on toasted Italian bread with a garlic mayo and arugula--perfection.

While relaxing in the sun, we made a new little friend. I think Ellie was a bit concerned this guy might hog her portion of the scraps!
She didn't waste any time getting in there for her fair share.
To end our 'very cheesy picnic', as Nolan put it, I forced him to snap a photo with me! ♥
We then packed up and headed home!
Until next time!
