Friday's Five: DIY Projects

This week has been pretty relaxing and has given me a good amount of time to think about all of the ways I want to get crafty in these up coming weeks...

1. Thanksgiving is less than a week away and I can't wait for a day filled with family, food and laughter. I also have a bunch of mason jars laying around that might make for a great hostess gift!

Best Lunch Spot in Torrington Ct:
Backstage Eat.Drink.Live

Nolan and I strayed away from the Hudson Valley yesterday afternoon and wandered into Torrington Connecticut where we enjoyed a relaxing lunch at a restaurant called Backstage- Eat. Drink. Live.  This place is gigantic, with tall booths and stools every where. They have a selection of 40 beers on tap and a whopping 80 different kinds of bottled beers! Any beer wo/man's DREAM!

Simmering Wood Stove Potpourri

Don't you just love curling up under some cozy blankets this time of year? Despite my dislike for the cold weather, one thing I truly enjoy is being able to concoct different wood stove potpourri recipes that simmer all day long, making the house that extra bit cozy and enjoyable!

Five Drug Store Beauty Buys

I must admit, I am not one who can rationalize spending $50 on an itty bitty bottle of foundation or face cream, needless to say, I know my way around the drug store beauty aisle. So here are my five favorite drug store beauty buys!

1. Maybelline's Fit me Shine-Free Foundation. It is extremely affordable and really does reduce any shine on your face. I've been using this foundation for the past 4 months. To my fellow ladies with a slightly oily face, this works wonders and leaves your  face even and shine free! The best part is that you don't have to get all messy! Just swipe on the places you want to cover, grab your foundation brush and blend, baby blend!

Friday's Five

Here are some things that have made me laugh, think, or smile this week...
1. Jimmy Kimmel's Halloween Candy Prank. I know I may be a bit late, but I saw this last year and laughed my booty off. This year was no different!

Friday's Five

So, I've decided to start a new habit where every Friday I share five things that have influenced me recently. Including things that I want to do, have enjoyed over the week, made me think a little, or just simply made me laugh.
1. I really want to test out a few new hairstyles. I'm usually pretty simple when it comes to styling my hair, so I'm trying to stray away from my normal routine and experiment with some fun new dos. I'll be peeking at this Pinterest board for some inspiration!

2. As much as I wish I was, I lack a certain creative crafty gene and I want to change that with lots and lots of practice.  Christmas is only a few months away, so I'll have plenty of time to test out multiple DIY projects. These canvas photos are on the top of my list!

3. If you haven't seen this already, then take  37 seconds to watch this video. It amazes me how superficial the media has gotten.

4.When the cooler months show up I see an automatic green light for brushing on all the dark reds, plums, and occasional black nails. I'm absolutely obsessed with these girly nails, which means I will be flashing this nude, gold, and glitter combo within the next few weeks!

5. Even though Halloween has passed, this AT&T commercial makes me laugh every time I see it. That little cowboy's crazy!
